Christ in Me?
In Revelations 3:20 it says,"If any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him." This is one of many references in the Bible that says that the Lord Jesus will come and abide in His people. The whole idea of the perfectly holy Lord of Glory coming and abiding in the life of a sinful creature like myself, boggles my mind. Why? should be the first question I would ask. I can see just from this verse that it is not just anyone that He will come in to. It must be someone that hears His voice and opens the door. What does it mean to hear His voice? In John 10 Jesus says that His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. So in order to hear His voice we must be one of His sheep. He, the Good Shepherd calls each one of His sheep by name and each one hears His voice and follows Him. When we respond to the call of the Shepherd then He comes and abides in us. He has called His people out of the darkness of this world and into the light of Christ our Savior. He is the One that has made the first move in saving us. It was not us who sought after Him, but He awakened us so that we could hear Him call and then we were able to respond. Our salvation is all from Christ. He is the One that enables us to hear and believe. "It is by faith that you are saved and that,(faith) not of your selves, it (the faith) is a gift from God." Eph. 2:8-9. Nothing that we do on our own, the faith that we have to believe in Him was given by Him because of His love for us. Not because of anything we have done, simply because of His love for us. Why does He love me? I don't know but I am so glad that He does. I praise Him for His love everyday. Do you?
